There's no better way to start off your holiday season than with a Fifth Pew cocktail, created by Leyenda's Ivy Mix. Lay down in the nonexistent snow and pour some spicy, sweet Ancho Reyes and pomace brandy (made in the Bolivian Andes) all up in that.

RECIPE: Fifth Pew

Not only is Mix the protégé of cocktail titan Julie Reiner, she was named "American Bartender of the Year" at the 2015 Tales of the Cocktail's Spirited Awards.

That's pretty damn impressive for a 29-year-old, not to mention the fact that Mix even founded her own national cocktail competition for women, Speed Rack.

Preeminent cocktail craft and accolades of its maker aside, the Fifth Pew is just a damn good cocktail featuring all the complexities of the pan-Latin palate from which Mix draws inspiration.

Cheers.
