Goalie Scores on Empty Net, Play-by-Play Guy Loses His Mind

A Finnish hockey goalie scored a goal and the play-by-play guy lost his damn mind.

On the spectrum of Fun Things a Hockey Goalie Can Do, a goal is just slightly less enjoyable than a goalie fight. This particular goalie goal is better than a fight, though, because the play-by-play guy completely loses it, before the goal even happens.

What we have here is a Finnish hockey game between TUTO and KooKoo, and TUTO held a 2-0 lead at the time. KooKoo pulled their own goalie for an extra skater on the ice, and dumped the puck into the TUTO zone off a faceoff from center ice. That's when Kaapo Kahkonen saw a chance at glory and took it. He popped out behind his net, stopped the puck, and stickhandled for a bit. As soon as Kahkonen touched the puck, our narrator was primed for the moment and when Kahkonen finally let it rip, we're taken on a steady rise up the vocal register until: madness.
