Reconfigure your brain with Jantsen & Dirt Monkey's festival-ready adventure in synths.

Back in 2009 the younger, less hearing-impaired David Garber was all about having his face reconfigured to dirty, nasty dubstep anthems—many of which had these airy, euphoric female vocals sandwiched between the bone-shattering swells of bass. My college roommates probably thought I was ingesting Class A narcotics like they were chewy gummy vitamins. But then a year later everyone jumped on the bandwagon and was blasting everything from Skrillex to Flux Pavillion like it was Miley Cyrus. I let out a big "told ya so" and quickly graduated into the deeper waters of house and techno, leaving all the trend-chasers in my dust.

Then I opened my inbox a few days ago and there was this Jantsen & Dirt Monkey remix of LA vocalist and producer Hopscotch's track "Red Sea." I was quickly overtaken with bass-infused nostalgia and was forced out of my comfy desk chair into a hysterical state usually associated with my former, '09 self. Throw in some à la mode trap snares and festival synths and this full-on filthy track is like a forward-facing time machine for the womp-loving masses. My head is spinning.
