Listen to D'Angelo's New Song, "Sugah Daddy"

His album 'Black Messiah' is coming on December 16. Yes, this Tuesday.

It's been 14 long and complicated years since D'Angelo last released an album (read our oral history of D'Angelo here), but that album was Voodoo, which is one of the best pieces of recorded music in human history. So obviously we at Noisey and everyone else in the world were beyond ecstatic when news broke Friday that the long-awaited follow-up, which has been rumored to come out soon for the last two years and which Questlove told us in October was "99.44 percent done," would be for real coming out soon. Really soon. December 16. Yes, this coming Tuesday. It's called Black Messiah because, honestly, what else could There are pictures of the physical object on Twitter. There is a listening event scheduled. And now, there is a new song.

It's called "Sugah Daddy."

It's available here for streaming and, to the first 1,000 visitors, download, as part of Red Bull's 20before15 series (which recently brought us the Earl Sweatshirt and Lil Herb collab "Knucklehead"). The song has actually been kicking around for a couple years since D'Angelo first played it on his 2012 tour, but this is the real version that, in two days, you will be able to get on a real album. Yes, it is sublime. There is nothing better than this. This is the best music and the best thing that exists, period. Check it out below or over here and try to keep yourself together.
