As if you needed another reason to spend the rest of the summer indoors, three girls in Tennessee fell almost 45 feet from a broken ferris wheel at a county fair Monday, the Washington Post reports.Authorities believe that the three girls—who are 16, 10, and six years old, respectively—slid out of the ferris-wheel ride at the Greene County Fair when it malfunctioned mid-orbit, causing the basket to flip over."It was like watching water pouring from a glass," eyewitness Gregory Lynthacum told local station WJHL. "They bounced off the metal bridging of the ride and eventually hit the ground."All three girls survived, but they were rushed to surrounding hospitals, where they were reportedly alert and responding to questions following the horrifying incident. As of Tuesday, authorities said the 16-year-old and 10-year-old suffered did not suffer from life-threatening injuries, while the six-year-old suffered a traumatic brain injury, according to NBC affiliate WBIR.All the carnival rides at the fair have since been shut down while investigators look into the possibility of tampering or foul play.
