We all remember back in the early days of reality television when Jessica Simpson wasn't sure what the popular tuna brand known as Chicken of the Sea actually is. She said to then-husband Nick Lachey, "Is this chicken, what I have, or is this fish? I know it's tuna, but it says 'Chicken by the Sea' [sic]." The gaffe even inspired an SNL sketch. Who, after all, doesn't know the difference between chicken and fish?

Well, say hello to 2003 again, because Burger King is promoting a new crispy chicken salad dish under a "Veggie & Fish" sign in a store located in Kent, UK.

The Evening Standard reports that a gentleman named Dave Warren recently tweeted a photo of the sign asking this pertinent question: "Crispy Chicken Salad is veggie option? Are you sure?"

Burger King is apparently not sure, because the manager of the restaurant was quoted in the News Shopper as replying to the question in the following perplexing manner: "It doesn't say it's just a vegetarian menu. It says veggie and fish."

Now we're really confused.

Warren, who tweeted about the sign, said he noticed the mistake when he was reading the options to a vegetarian friend. Apparently she wasn't amused by the chicken-salad choice. Warren says, "I was treating her and read out the veggie options and nearly got killed for suggesting it!"

MUNCHIES reached out to Burger King for comment, but has yet to hear back.

OK, Burger King, get it together. Don't worry—Jessica Simpson bounced back from this. She now runs a fashion empire worth, according to Forbes, $1 billion. She says she attributes her financial success to this: "I understand women." She just may not really understand the difference between chicken and fish.

Hopefully, Burger King's customers don't have the same issue.
