Chris Christie Says Donald Trump Forced Him to Eat Meatloaf

He says it wasn't emasculating.

What does Chris Christie like for lunch? Well, he'll have what Trump's having.

On his recent appearance on the Boomer and Carton sports radio show, the New Jersey governor discussed his recent Valentine's Day meal at the White House with the famously meat-and-potatoes-loving president, and he said that Trump more or less forced him to eat meatloaf.

"This is what it's like to be with Trump: 'He says, 'There's the menu, you guys order whatever you want,'" Christie told listeners on-air. "And then he says, 'Chris, you and I are going to have the meatloaf.'''

All things considered, the story is not so odd, given Christie's history as a Trump sycophant. As one of the president's former rivals during the Republican primary last year, Christie was one of the first to bend the knee in search of a position in Trump's administration.

However, his position didn't last long, as Trump aides considered him a "political liability." Now, it seems, he's just a kid, sitting at his father's elbow for a meal.

"He tells you what you're eating?" asked co-host Craig Carton.

"Yeah, and I said, 'We're going to have the meatloaf?'" Christie replied. "And he said, 'I'm telling you, the meatloaf is fabulous.'"
