Internet Forever Scarred by Video of Man 'Lovin' It' With a McChicken

When does a chicken sandwich stop being just a chicken sandwich and begin to become an unrivaled bundle of steaming sexual dynamism and edible eroticism capable of bringing the world to its quivering knees?

When does a chicken sandwich stop being just a chicken sandwich and begin to become an unrivaled bundle of steaming sexual dynamism and edible eroticism capable of bringing the world to its quivering knees?

We may now know the answer to that question after one man tweeted McDonald's a graphic video of himself eagerly masturbating with a McChicken sandwich for close to 20 seconds. The original tweet and the attached account, @McDonaldsChiraq, have been removed and suspended, respectively, but not before the video went viral and a new hashtag—#McChicken—became one of the top trending topics on both Twitter and Facebook this Sunday and Monday.

The sudden appearance and widespread popularity of the hashtag reportedly led many people to assume that #McChicken was simply part of a corporate promotion—only to realize their sheer folly when they came across the sexually explicit video.

And it certainly is explicit. This man's enjoyment of a McChicken sandwich makes what American Pie did for apple pie look like something from Victorian England.

Business Insider points out that the virality of the #McChicken hashtag shows how trending algorithms for Twitter and other social-media platforms can inadvertently have negative results for popular brands. That's because viewers who are expressing their shock or disgust by using the #McChicken are effectively causing the hashtag to grow even more popular, thereby furthering the problem. A quick search of the #McChicken hashtag reveals that a massive amount of the traffic is people voicing their displeasure with the video.

I really hope that Sausage Party in no way inspired this #McChicken thing.

Ironically, the video comes a little more than a month after McDonald's decided to block access to any and all pornographic materials on the public Wi-Fi offered in its US locations. MUNCHIES reached out to McDonald's for comment on the #McChicken matter, but has yet to hear back.

I wanted a mcchicken but u all fucked it up with that video. It'll now take me 6 days to forget and order it again. — christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) August 29, 2016

Perhaps @McDonaldsChiraq felt McDonald's needed to be reminded that they weren't actually in charge of the Internet. But for those of us who just couldn't resist clicking, let's hope the world has enough Prozac, white wine, and therapists to fill the McChicken-sized void left in all of our hearts and minds.
