There's something about the meat of the humble pig that lends itself to a marriage of sweet and savory flavors.

So why not top a pork chop with a few spectacular, ripe figs? And then how about we throw in some Spanish onions—caramelized in butter alongside some garlic of course—for good measure? And finally, just to drive the point home, we suggest you add a touch of light brown sugar and (yes, you're reading this right) half a vanilla bean, and some vanilla extract to the mix.

Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Kelis actually showed us this recipe a few years ago, and told us that the glaze "goes really amazing with this gorgeous pork chop."

We're not kidding, and neither is Kelis. Your mind will be blown. As those little mice in Babe once said, "Pork is a nice, sweet meat." Damn straight.
