Welcome to Season Two of 'MUNCHIES: The Podcast' with Prince Rama and Energy Drinks

To kick off season two of 'MUNCHIES: The Podcast,' we're falling into the underworld of energy drinks with two caffeine addicts: Brooklyn band, Prince Rama. We'll explore the strange history of the stuff and how it has inspired pop culture.

I've got great news for your eardrums.

Last November, we launched MUNCHIES: The Podcast, a show dedicated to exploring unusual stories in food. We went to strange places to find these stories, from learning why failure makes everything better according to chef Danny Bowien of Mission Chinese, to how one man is saving the world's tequila supply with bats. We even stunk things up with a smell artist who's trying to make you become a better eater with scent.

This season, we're getting out of New York and taking you on the road to American cities to explore the unique stories they have to tell in food. But we can't kick things off without the Big Apple, where we're still living in the glut of sleepy winter. There's only one way to pull ourselves out of seasonal affective disorder: energy drinks.

On the first episode of the second season, we're going to fall into the sleepless underworld of of energy drinks to figure out why people are more obsessed with these high-octane beverages than ever, but I can't do this alone. I've enlisted the help of two caffeine addicts: the sister duo of Brooklyn band, Prince Rama, who just released their latest album, "XTREME NOW," which is inspired by the relationship between extreme sports and energy drinks.

Together, we'll speak to our beverage expert, bartender Don Lee, to learn about the history of energy drinks and to get to the bottom of what's in your can. We're also gonna discuss how these super caffeinated refreshments have inspired Prince Rama and pop culture alike. Here's to hoping we don't end up in the hospital.

Pound an energy drink (with caution) to get into the zone and download the podcast, and then tell the rest of your friends to do the same. And if you haven't done so already, subscribe to MUNCHIES: The Podcast on iTunes and Soundcloud. Our next episode drops in two weeks, so visit MUNCHIES to feast on our delicious content to tide you over.
