Obviously, when it comes to brunch, it's all about crowd-pleasers, and when in Holland, jenever is the move. It's basically gin with the juniper berries cranked up to 11, and provides the perfect base for a summer cocktail, which is the Dinner Bell twist on the classic gin and soda.

RECIPE: Lemon Thyme Jenever Cocktail

All you need for this cocktail is a lemon, a bit of honey, some fresh thyme sprigs, and you're off to the races. You can crush all these ingredients together with what Julia calls her "medieval dick punisher," but a normal muddler should suffice to bring this "pretty, summery, and delicious" cocktail to life.

After you have this jenever cocktail, you're never going to go back to normal gin and tonic.
