OK, so this—yes, this is French toast made out of pizza—might sound like a bit of a stoner idea, concocted by baked flatmates staring at cold, stale pizza at 4AM.

Of course, that wouldn't in any way diminish its brilliance, but this dish was actually conceived by one of England's most respected chefs, Lee Tiernan of St. John and St. John Bread & Wine fame—possibly under the very same circumstances described above.

"I elevate these tantalising triangles ever so slightly by making them into French toast," Lee told us. "There is no 'recipe' so to speak. Whisk some eggs in a bowl, add a pinch of paprika, a grind of black pepper, and touch of salt. Dredge the pizza in the egg and fry in a pan."
