Primaries Get Super Serious as Sanders and Clinton Hit Up In-N-Out Burger

Both Bernie Sanders and former president Bill Clinton were spotted last Friday shaking hands and dunking fries at In-N-Out locations in Southern California.

When the primary process for determining the Leader of the Free World has more in common with Andy Dick's pleather-coated fever dream than any sort of esteemed democratic coterie, you get pretty used to spectacularly mind-boggling happenings. And this year's stumping has made for quite possibly the single greatest source of bizarre food happenings in quite some time.

From Trump parading about his nonexistent line of steaks to Hillary calling boba "chewy tea," we've witnessed some pretty amazing shit. Hell, the entirety of John Kasich's campaign strategy seemed to be focused on stuffing his gob with as much food as humanly possible.

The primaries may indeed be coming to a close, but that doesn't mean they're done giving yet. Both Bernie Sanders and former president Bill Clinton were spotted last Friday shaking hands and dunking fries at In-N-Out locations in Southern California.

The highly publicized outings bring to mind countless questions, chief of which is the following: Just how dumbstruck and/or mortified do you think Wienerschnitzel is after being passed over by not one, but two campaigns?

Both Bernie and Bill behaved in a manner that was true to form. Sanders wagged a finger and ordered a cheeseburger, soda, and fries. Clinton, on the other hand, ordered "at least 50 burgers and fries," but didn't eat them—he's been a vegan for six years. He was apparently buying the food for staffers of his wife's campaign, who are working hard in advance of the California primary tomorrow.

While Sanders appeared wholly content spending his time at the iconic California-based chain speaking to workers and giving his fries to children, Clinton took a different approach and seemed to spend quite a bit of time courting the ladies. In fact, when social-media curation site Twitchy pointed that fact out utilizing a series of photographs, Angel Urena, Bill Clinton's current press secretary, took offense and tweeted a group photo of Clinton with In-N-Out staff.

This being California, TMZ reported that one of the ladies Bill ran into at the In-N-Out was Nia Guzman. That's right, Chris Brown's baby mama was waiting to place her order when the Arkansas native entered the scene.

Sanders has said that even if Hillary Clinton gets enough delegates to clinch the Democratic nomination, he will not concede, but will take his campaign to the Democratic Convention this summer. That's good, because we are certainly enjoying these French fry–filled political duels taking place in fast-food joints and restaurants all across America.
