Man Caught Stealing Flamin' Hot Cheetos Tries to Burn Down Gas Station

A Missouri man just redefined the term "flamin' hot" this week, after a shoplifting attempt that went horribly wrong.

Perhaps hoping to recreate Matty Matheson's Cheeto Mac and Cheese recipe, Joshua Lee Crook walked into a St. Louis to pick up a bag of Flamin' Hot Cheetos. That's when the gas station manager called him out for not paying for his spicy, cheesy puffed cornmeal, instructing Crook to either pay or leave.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Crook opted to leave his Cheetos behind. But no less than a minute later, he was back in the gas station, looking the reclaim the snack he still hadn't paid for. Crook then grabbed the bag and walked out, with the store manager in hot pursuit.

But things only got hotter after that, as the manager confronted Crook, only to be thrown to the floor and punched in the face by the snack thief. But Crook's rampage didn't end there, though. He walked over to a gas pump and slammed it to the ground, creating a pool of gasoline. Not content with the havoc he wreaked, Crook allegedly threw his lit cigarette at the puddle of gas; some men just want to watch the world burn while eating Flamin' Hot Cheetos.

Luckily, Crook's attempt to torch the gas station was thwarted as he "tried, but failed, to start a fire." Shortly thereafter, Crooks was arrested and charged with first-degree arson, third-degree assault, theft of less than $500, and first-degree trespassing.

The Cheetos thief was then forced to take a mugshot, which, if the photo is any indication, he also tried to fight. Clearly, he is a man who does not like being forced to do things; like paying for snacks or taking mugshots. Unfortunately for Crook, the former can often lead to the latter.

And now, because of his flamin' hot rampage, the next time Crook eats Cheetos will probably be with a bag of ramen—prison ramen.
