Hey London: Win a Place at Lyle’s’ Exclusive Dinner with Badass Chef Daniel Berlin

This month, celebrated Swedish chef Daniel Berlin cooks a one-off dinner at the newly Michelin-starred Lyle’s restaurant—and we’re giving away a table-for-two.

In Skane-Tranas, a tiny Swedish village an hour's drive from Malmo, chef Daniel Berlin runs an unusual restaurant.

All produce—predominantly vegetables—is foraged and sourced from the surrounding countryside. His mum is on the waitstaff; his dad the sommelier, the dining room seats 14 people, and there's a three-month wait for a table.

Dishes on Berlin's twenty-something course tasting menu include smoked mackerel with cucumber, elderberry sorbet, and a signature baked celeriac. They've won him the San Pellegrino Cooking Cup and comparisons to Rene Redzepi.

Suffice to say, it's a pretty special place to eat.

Happily for Londoners, there's no need to make the trek to south Sweden. This month, Berlin leaves his Nordic idyll to cook two exclusive dinners at the recently Michelin-starred Lyle's in East London.

His takeover of the kitchen comes as part of the restaurant's Guest Series, a set of one-off dinner events that so far have seen head chef James Lowe cook monkfish and smoked eel with James Henry, and Mexico City's Elena Reygadas experiment with edible flowers and cuttlefish.

We're giving one London MUNCHIES reader the chance to win a table for two, including wine, at Lyle's and Berlin's set-menu dinner on Monday 30 November at 8 PM. All you have to do is enter your details below.
