MUNCHIES: The Podcast: Drinking Beers with President Obama’s White House Chef

On the latest episode, we sit down with Sam Kass to discuss what it was like to cook for the leader of the free world, and find out how he convinced Obama to put craft beer in the White House.

Former White House chef Sam Kass has a Wikipedia page that rivals Steven Seagal's in intrigue. From (almost) turning pro as a baseball player to becoming the Obama family's private chef (pre-Presidency) to taking on the role of Assistant White House Chef, Kass has created one of the most inimitable culinary careers in the game. And he's not stopping anytime soon.

He's also the guy who convinced President Obama to put craft beer in the White House. So on the latest episode of MUNCHIES: The Podcast, I sit down with Kass over some beers at Other Half Brewery to extract some secrets from his time spent in the White House kitchen. We'll also discuss his role as Senior Policy Advisor for Nutrition Policy and as Executive Director for the First Lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move! campaign and chat about what it was like to plant the White House garden—one that's still producing fresh vegetables, despite its current President.
