This Japanese Curry Comes with Three Edible 'Anal Orbs'

Wait till you get a load of the backstory of these ass-plundering turtle demons!

If ever you're in Japan and encounter a kappa, run.

In Japanese mythology, it is believed that these mysterious water creatures can gain spiritual power by stealing the "shirikodama" of humans—a little ball in your anus that contains your soul.

But for those fearless enough to confront the anus-snatchers, there is a curry for you. According to RocketNews24, a new instant curry called Kappa Curry with Shirikodama, has hit the market (and Amazon), which, if you've been paying attention, means that it contains the spiritual anal orbs.

In a bizarre marketing move, kappa and shirikodama are now being used to hawk curry by the town of Fukusaki in the Hyogo Prefecture.

Fukusaki's official mascot is Gajiro, a demonic, long-haired kappa—who looks more like Ronnie James Dio in the afterlife than an actual Japanese folklore character—and there is even a pond in Fukusaki that has been filled with a robotic Gajiro who emerges from the water to attack the buttholes of locals.

Obviously, puttingshirikodama in boil-in-a-bag curry is more of a marketing ploy than a literal ingredients list, and the manufacturers of Kappa Curry with Shirikodama have opted for quail eggs as a substitution, promising three faux anal orbs per package. And all of this can be yours for the low-low price of 570 yen—about five bucks stateside.

It might not be the most appetizing sales strategy, but it's creating quite a stir on social media, and serves as a reminder to be on the look-out for any kappa that could be on the loose and watch your caboose.
