Watch Momofuku's David Chang Cook 'The Plant-Based Burger that Bleeds' Tonight on Our Facebook Live

Tonight at 6 PM EST, tune in to the MUNCHIES Facebook page to see Momofuku put the Impossible Foods burger into action, right in our very own test kitchen.

Way back in October 2014, we marveled at the first reveal of Silicon Valley startup Impossible Foods' plant-based burger, which bears a groundbreakingly uncanny resemblance to its traditional ground beef counterparts. It bleeds! It stays pink inside when cooked medium rare! And it's not just about looks; thanks to a plant-derived molecule called heme, the burgers even have that iron-y, meaty taste that seems irreplicable in plant form.

Needless to say, a lot of people have been eager to sink their teeth into it—and not just vegans and vegetarians. The burger marks a sea change in the way we view plant-based foods, no longer as sorry imitations of meat and dairy but as real contenders in our cuisine. And the team from Momofuku is keen on proving it.

Tonight at 6 PM EST, tune in to the MUNCHIES Facebook page to see Momofuku put the Impossible Foods burger into action, right in our very own MUNCHIES test kitchen. The event will mark the first time that the burger is prepared on-camera in a commercial kitchen, and we think it's going to be pretty damn delicious. We hope to see you there!

Plus, starting tomorrow—Wednesday, July 27—Impossible Foods' entirely vegan but utterly convincing burger will appear on the menu at Momofuku Nishi in Manhattan, so you can taste it for yourself. After all, when it comes to meat, animal-free or otherwise, you're in good hands when they're David Chang's.
