Stop Ordering Pizzas Online and Make These at Home Instead

Good ol' cheese pizza has always been there for you. Pepperoni was around when you wanted something a little more special. Sausage is OK, but you'll still eat it, because, hey, pizza is pizza. And pizza is delicious.

But why keep ordering the same thing? You can make a pizza as wild as your most recent fever dream, and you can do it without leaving your apartment. All you need is a little imagination, a couple of bowls, almost certainly a few cooking beers, and you're ready to turn your kitchen into your own private pizza pit. It's worth getting off your couch and giving Seamless a rest for one night.

Let's start with the childhood favorite, usually enjoyed straight from the burned cardboard circle you accidentally baked them onto. You're not a kid anymore, so if you want Bagel Bites, you're going to have to break out the yeast and flour and make some yourself. This is an exercise in patience, but as they say, distance makes the heart grow fonder.

So while you watch your bagel dough rise (preferably in a warm spot, covered with plastic wrap or cloth), you know that your future holds in it warm, marinara-laced pizza Bagel Bites, topped with pepperoni, of course, because we're not animals.

This is the best of all pizza worlds—it's crispy, it's chewy, and it's mostly just cheese and sauce (but it's square to remind you that it's still a little different). You're going to want to wash down a few slices of this spicy, smoky 'za with some good German beers, as you're going to need something to cut through that heat. Who knew that a Hefeweizen went so well with a margherita round?

This may seem insane, but just chill out for a second. It's almost fall, isn't it? People are drinking pumpkin spice this and eating pumpkin pie that. Why not make a pumpkin pizza? It's just a kind of squash, after all.

Now that we've gotten that squared away, imagine this: creamy, purée pumpkin, gooey mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, savory turkey sausage, mushrooms, and enough fresh herbs to remind you that gardens still exist and it's not quite winter (yet). What's not to like?

Now, for the pièce de résistance. Let's try a little something fancy, shall we? This pie is made with wild mushrooms, fatty pancetta, salty Pecorino, and slightly sweet leeks. It's certainly not something you're going to order at 3 AM on your way home from your sketchy locale of choice, but pop open a nice glass of wine, shave a little extra Pecorino on top of your pizza, and get ready to feel elegant as hell as you dine on what is almost certainly the classiest thing you've ever made.
