After their long, grueling night shifts in top-notch kitchens, I texted a bunch of high-quality chefs photos of squash varietals because it's gourd season. Who wouldn't want to take a peep at a pumpkin in prime form, or a glisteningly ripe gourd?

We all know it's pumpkin spice season.

After their long, grueling night shifts in top-notch kitchens, slaving over pumpkin brûlée, butternut squash gratin, and zucchini terrines, I texted a bunch of high-quality chefs photos of squash varietals because it's gourd season. Who wouldn't want to take a peep at a pumpkin in prime form, or a glisteningly ripe gourd?

In the end, one thing is clear: squash is sexy, and what these chefs choose to do with these gourds in their off hours is their business.
